A number of archeological sites with remains from Roman, Medieval and Post-industrial times, but for years now they have been underexplored or abandoned. The ACT Collaboratory mission is to regenerate the area, contributing to make the community aware of the great potential of their territory. Engaged citizens and civic entrepreneurs to increase the well-being of the district inhabitants conceiveing cultural heritage as a driver for the socio-economic and sustainable development of the area.

The Festival was an event of ASviS - Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development. The Asvis round table held at Fusolab 2.0 in Via della Bella Villa 94 has celebrated topics in relation to sustainable development and community participation. It hosted guests from the Luiss Guido CarliLabGov - LABoratory for the GOVernance of the city as a commons and Sapienza University of Rome.

A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.
Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.
