Welcome to Collaboratorio di Roma
The Rome Collaboratory’s mission is to revitalize the heritage area of Centocelle which is covering three districts, Alessandrino, Centocelle and Torre Spaccata, which together form the South-East Co-District of Rome. This heritage area includes historical edifices, parks, and ruins, such as the Public Archeological Park of Centocelle, the Osteria of Centocelle, the Historical Tunnel of Centocelle, and the Tower of Centocelle in total abandonment and has thus lost its attractiveness both to tourists and to the local community as a result of its degrading state. In this revitalization process as part of the Horizon 2020 Open Heritage project, the community itself needs to be the “doer” of the plan, from the proposals to the implementation of its own solutions and most of all, it needs to end up being the owner of the output. In order to achieve this mission, the Rome Collaboratory is promoting the development of “civic entrepreneurs”, i.e. local entrepreneurs with a social objective and is developing a strategy to enable the community to build economically sustainable activities in the medium and long-term, that will be pursued further beyond the Open Heritage project’s timespan.Register
