Presentation Laboratory with the School "Antonio Montinaro"

On June 6th, the a.DNA curator Mirko Pierri, together with CooperACTiva, represented by Urio Cini and Monica Comandini, and Luiss Guido Carli, represented by Stefanija Hrle Aiello, presented to the children attending the Istituto comprensivo Antonio Montinaro, the mural made on the wall of their school in Rugantino Street.

The artwork is a part of Open Heritage project and it is a product of a lively dialogue with various realities of the neighborhood in the last couple of years. The school "Antonio Montinaro" has a special place in this project since it hosted the mural on one of it's walls but also because the pupils of the school gave a major contribution during the two workshops to the content of the artworks. The lettering artist Daniele Tozzi together with the Roman poet Er Pinto created the work called "Tutti Assieme" ("Everyone Together") on 25th April.

This laboratory was an occasion to raise awareness among children that their voice matters and it is important, and the fruit of that importance is exactly on the wall of their school. It was also and opportunity to have another dialogue about the principles of the Open Heritage project, participation and preservation of cultural heritage expressed in the Italian Constitution, Faro Convention and Elinor Ostrom's idea of the commons. They also learned about the artistic processes that lead to the creation of the mural and also eco-sustainable materials used, reflected in the Agenda 2030.

A special moment of the day was a letter of the director of the school, prof. Maria Rosara D'Alfonso read to the children, teachers and representatives of CooperACTiva, Luiss Guido Carli, and a.Dna. Prof. D'Alfonso expressed happiness for the involvement in the project Open Heritage and Living Memory Exhibition and hopes for a further collaboration. She also pointed the importance of this project for the school and the whole neighborhood of Torre Spaccata.
